The PhysiYo Story
PhysiYo was founded from a simple question: "What happens next?"
After more than two decades as a physical therapist, Christina saw many patients successfully complete rehabilitation, only to struggle with maintaining their progress once therapy ended. Others wanted guidance on exercise, movement, stress management, and healthy habits but didn't know where to turn.
As a physical therapist, Christina frequently encouraged patients to try yoga as a way to continue moving, building strength, and improving flexibility after therapy. While some found tremendous success, others felt overwhelmed by traditional yoga classes or pushed into movements their bodies weren't ready for. She saw a need for a different approach—one that combined the clinical understanding of physical therapy with the lifelong movement practice that yoga could provide.
Yoga wasn't simply another exercise program. It offered a way for people to develop body awareness, mobility, strength, balance, and confidence that could carry with them throughout life. By blending physical therapy principles with yoga, Christina found she could help people transition from rehabilitation to lifelong wellness in a way that was both accessible and sustainable. Christina envisioned a place where rehabilitation and mindful movement worked together, helping people not only recover from injury but also build the habits and confidence needed to stay healthy for years to come.
That philosophy became the foundation for PhysiYo. In fact, the name itself was born from the combination of Physical Therapy and Yoga—the two services that started it all. When PhysiYo first opened, it was simply Christina providing physical therapy services and teaching yoga. Many of the people who came through the doors were recovering from injuries, managing chronic pain, or just beginning their movement journey. What started as a small practice built around physical therapy and yoga quickly demonstrated the power of combining rehabilitation with mindful movement.
As the community grew, so did the vision. Clients were looking for additional ways to support their health through other fitness training, massage therapy, wellness education, recovery services, and other movement-based offerings. Over time, PhysiYo expanded into a team of professionals and a broader wellness community while staying true to the philosophy that inspired it from the beginning.
Today, PhysiYo continues to help people move well, feel better, and build healthier, more active lives. Whether someone is recovering from an injury, managing pain, beginning an exercise program, or simply looking to improve their overall well-being, the goal remains the same: to provide the support, education, and guidance needed for lasting health.
